Can I Call In At Your Mail Order Premises In Hinckley?

Yes! We our Mail Order Warehouse in Hinckley is open to view our full range including

  • Second hand books
  • Range of the latest titles
  • Full range of Ian Allan / OPC / Midland /Classic titles

We are open on weekdays between 10.00am and 4.00pm You can also pre order forthcoming titles. Your order can then be sent on to you or made available here for collection at a later date. We can, if you wish, make orders placed on the web site available for collection. If you wish to do this, please set the Shipping Address during Checkout to 'COLLECT FROM HINCKLEY WAREHOUSE'. Any items which you do not wish to purchase when you have examined them will be refunded or credited.

How long will my order take to arrivey?

Approximate delivery times are:
By Surface Mail to Europe - usually 2-3 weeks, but please allow 4 weeks before enquiring
By Surface Mail to Canada or the USA - usually 4-6 weeks, but please allow 8 weeks before enquiring
By Surface Mail to South America, South Africa, Australia, New Zealand and the Far East - usually 12-14 weeks
By Air Mail to Europe - usually 7-10 days
By Economy Air Mail to other destinations - usually 14-21 days, but please allow the same time as Surface Mail as parcels are frequently delayed by your national Customs Service

What Are The Postage Costs?

The postage costs vary depending on the size of the order, the destination and the service used.

How Can I Pay For My Order?

Orders via the website may be paid for either by using a Credit Card or Debit Card bearing a Visa, Mastercard, Euro-card, Solo, Connect or Maestro logo, or via the Paypal system.

Which Regions & Format Are The DVD's You Sell In?

When you are logged in to the site, you will see 'Plus Points' in the 'My Account' box on the right of the screen. Clicking on this will take you to a screen which tells you how many points you have so far accrued, and gives you the chance to convert them to a 'Gift Certificate' which you may keep and spend on the site, or send to someone else if you wish. There is a minimum quantity of 100 Points before you can do this.
Plus Points are not immediately available when you place an order, but you will normally receive an e-mail confirmation about 3 days later that the Points have been allocated to your account.

How Do I Return Damaged / Unwanted / Wrong or Faulty Items?

I am ordering from outside the UK - Do I have to pay UK VAT?

Books in the UK are 'zero-rated' for VAT and there is therefore no VAT to be deducted.
DVDs, Calendars, Models, etc. do carry VAT.
If you are resident in the European Union, then we must charge you the VAT unless you are VAT registered in your own country and have supplied us with your VAT Registration details.
For customers outside the European Union we can deduct the VAT element of the prices quoted on the site. Unfortunately, we cannot do this automatically at the checkout at present, but the deduction will be made when the order is processed.

I have an Ian Allan Subscription Loyalty Card - How do I claim my discount?

Please enter the details of your card (number, magazine, expiry date) in the appropriate fields in your Customer Profile when you register or at the checkout. Your discount will be deducted when the order is processed. We are not yet able to do this at the checkout.
However, please note that the discount only applies to titles published by Ian Allan, Classic Publications, Midland Publishing and OPC, and NOT to the many titles stocked by Ian Allan Plus for mail order sale. If you check the description of each title it will indicate if a discount is available.
Please also note that titles which are already reduced, such as pre-publication offers, will not qualify for a further discount.

I am thinking of Subscribing to your Email Newsletter. How often will I receive them?

We will only contact you when we have something important or interesting to tell you about like a special offer or a new publications. You will get on average and email every week depending on our publishing schedule.

If I don’t wish to continue getting emails from you how can I unsubscribe?

Simply click the unsubscribe link at the bottom of any of our emails to be instantly removed from our mailing list.
