Paul Smith
Paul Smith is aged 64 and lives in Birmingham. Sadly, his wife died in 2007 but it was through her that he started to write books. Shortly after they married in 1985 she suffered a serious illness and Paul spent the rest of his life looking after her, 24/7 after 1999. The couple looked at things that they could do together and decided that researching and writing books fitted the bill. They spent many happy years doing just that. The Ian Allan ABC Railway Depots will be the 16th book, but sadly the first without his wife's encouragement, help and input.
