Buses Coaches and... People Volume 1
The author, David Gladwin, explains, "...this volume will show, in a vaguely chronological order, people - people working, people building, people travelling or just ambling about in, on or near buses." There are six chapters in this book each focusing on a different aspect and a different time. Chapter one is entitled 'retrospect,' and chapter 2 is named 'four legs good, four wheels not (very), to 1918'. In chapter 3 is about the 'lazy, hazy, crazy days of summer' and looks the decade between 1918 and 1928. Chapter 4, the 'watershed', covers the year 1929 and chapter 5 is named 'and beyond into summer' and looks that the period between 1930 and 1939. The final chapter, chapter 6 explores the 'times of stringency and make do' from 1939 to 1945. This 224 page book published by Adam Gordon is illustrated throughout in black and white.
